Are you an Ant or Grasshopper?
Angry rhetoric from the right and naive compassion from the left? (Keep it civil please)Are you an Ant or Grasshopper?
by Daku » Wed Mar 03, 2010 11:17 am
OLD VERSION
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building
his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a
fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away..
Come winter, the ant is warm
and well fed.
The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he
dies out in the cold.

Hell I don't think there were any LAWYERS back then.

ya, they plagiarized it im sure. i mean duh....
just because wisdom is written down doesn't mean it was born at that moment. The interesting thing about the Bible is that some of the wisdom inside is so easy for us to dismiss as common knowledge and therefore assume it was just taken from something else.
I mean duh, working hard and preparing for the future? wow doesn't seem like rocket science....or camel riding science, wood working science? no rockets back then.
Of course I am not sure how much wisdom there is in using an assumption as your basis for dismissal.

actually I think the Romans did have lawyers of sorts. people paid orators to speak their case in front of the arbitrators or whatever they called them. all my knowledge comes from the HBO series rome. so i must be right, right? right???

Oh, I was thinking back further than Rome.
