just noticed page 1 of this post is from may 2007. kinda sweet to see a game get made right, even if it isn't my cup of tea.

If any of you are using Nvidia drivers newer than 196.21 version then I recommend rolling back. All drivers newer than 196.21 (which I was using) causes SERIOUS issues (I couldn't play SC2 at all) and have actually been pulled off the Nvidia website.

The newest drivers Nvidia has listed now is 196.21. I haven't seen them make a big mistake like that in awhile. :emotesgtsetty:

edit: o dang glad I didn't try playing anything much with the new drivers... lol http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Nvidia ... ,9802.html

I guess it was actually frying ppls video cards somehow.

Just a driver mistake. Usually it's ATI doing it but Nvidia has their fuckups as well.

Though I haven't heard of any big ATi fuck ups in awhile.

ive heard of the ati drivers just sucking and not performing well or not installing right but never causing a meltdown. And thats a pretty huge driver mistake when it smoked cards across the line literally.

It's because the new drivers screwed up the fan speed management control. That's all. People with water cooling systems for instance weren't affected by the mistake at all. Definitely a big fuck up on Nvidia's part they have started to drop the ball lately.

Maybe they are focusing on too much with their other projects or something I dunno. Fermi isn't seeming that impressive compared to what ATI already has out, but I guess we'll see for sure once it's been released.
